KOLD-DRAFT® Refurbishes 124,000-Sq.-Ft. Facility to Include Manufacturing of New ISB Ice Bagging System

40,000 Sq. Ft. Exclusively Devoted to New In-Store Ice Bagging Equipment

July 28, 2010—Erie, PA—KOLD-DRAFT®, a leader in the manufacture of high-quality, high-performance ice machines, has remodeled and refurbished their entire 124,000-sq.-ft. headquarters in Erie, PA, including approximately 40,000 sq. ft of dedicated space for the manufacture of the newly introduced ISB Ice Bagging System. The top-to-bottom renovation of the KOLD-DRAFT facility includes upgraded facilities that will house all equipment, raw materials, and parts for manufacturing; renovating all offices, research and technology areas and conference suites; and a new cafeteria for the company’s employees.

A new manufacturing area creates a location to house many additional jobs at KOLD-DRAFT resulting from the company’s introduction of the ISB Ice Bagging System. The expansion includes all areas of manufacturing, such as production planning, assembly, engineering, quality control, and purchasing.

Marty Gardner, President and Chief Operations Officer of KOLD-DRAFT, says, “We are happy to be creating more job opportunities in the region. We’ve been hiring for multiple positions every month since December, and we will hire a few dozen more for the bagger production line by September 1, 2010.”
