KOLD-DRAFT® Donates Commercial Ice Machine to Help Raise Cool Cash at San Francisco Exploratorium’s “Science of Cocktails” Fundraiser

KOLD-DRAFT Commercial Ice Machines donated Ice Machine as part of the "Science of Cocktails" Fundraiser at the Exploratorium in San Francisco. $80,000 was raised to support educational efforts.

February 25, 2010—KOLD-DRAFT®, a leader in the manufacture of high-quality, high performance commercial ice machines, provided one of their 560 Series Classic Ice Cubers to supply about 500 pounds of ice for two hours of cool cocktail-making demonstrations at the “Science of Cocktails” fundraising event at the Exploratorium at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco on Jan. 20. The museum raised more than $80,000 to support their educational efforts that reach more than 2,000 children and adults every day.

The “Science of Cocktails” featured the artistry of local master mixologists and provided an in-depth, hands-on look at the physics, chemistry, and biology of cocktails, including the ice that chills them.

Every mixologist at the event was provided a supply of KOLD-DRAFT ice for their cocktail-making demonstrations. Erik Adkins, a local mixologist who is general manager of San Francisco’s Heaven’s Dog restaurant and bar manager of The Slanted Door restaurant, presented a program called “The Science of Ice,” including ice made by KOLD-DRAFT. Both restaurants use only KOLD-DRAFT ice in their beverages and cocktails.
